One weather radar network, operated by Czech Hydrometeorological Institute, serves to the purposes of national and military weather services, operational hydrology and recently also air traffic control. Volume scans in 10-min. interval are interlaced into 2 sub-scans for faster updated warning products, while the full datasets are used for quantitative purposes.
For enhancement of radar areal coverage, both CERAD (Central European Radar Network) composite and neighboring radars are used. Radar coverage and data quality can be estimated by the means of long-term precipitation accumulations.
